The present invention is a method for buildingcomputing machinery out of multiple separate networkedcomponents, wherein the method of assigning addresses to individual network nodes is designed to make improbable, to any required degree of certainty, the possibility that one node in the network or sub-network hasthe same address as another node in the network orsub-network, and for communicating messages to andfrom such nodes with assigned addresses to other andpossibly different nodes with possibly different addressesin said computer network. The multiple separate networknodes are capable of computing functions on the datasent to them, and of responding with the data resultingfrom said computations or transmitting such results toother nodes in the network. Collectively a system of suchnodes implements a finite general purpose Turing machine.
