A method for data communication and computation over a network whereby nodes of the network are capable of evaluating functions in the local environment of the node, and where the addresses of newly created or of newly connected networknodes are assigned at random, near uniqueness of node addresses being accomplished by using a random or pseudo-random method of choosing one address from a sufficiently large pool of network addresses.
